Thank you for attending the Brain Story Waterloo Region event(s).
If you weren’t able to join us but are curious about the day,
you’ll get a sense of it from the resources found here.
We are currently reviewing your feedback and actively planning how we will use the knowledge and resources the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative shared with us, with an eye to customizing for our communities, across our Region and across sectors.
We are interested in hearing if you are doing any of the following:
• You have registered for Brain Story Certification (to track impact)
• You are using what you learned at work or home (tell us how)
• You have any ideas or suggestions
• You require clarification or more information
Please feel free to reach out via email to kathileeporter@elawr.org to let us know.
Check out the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative’s website for resources and information (including Brain Story Certification enrollment, as well as the AWFI videos):

On October 22nd at the end of the day we took advantage of an opportunity to capture a conversation between child advocate & psychiatrist Dr. Jean Clinton and Dr. Robin Williams, former President of the Canadian Pediatric Society & former Chief Medical Officer of Ontario, as they discussed the Waterloo Region Brain Story day and the implications of the work. Please take a look and feel free to share widely.
Below are the slide decks from Dr. Nicole Sherren’s presentations. If you would like to download and use the pdf’s please be sure to attribute the source. Video’s shown in the original slide decks are located on the AWFI website (listed above).
You may have noticed our photographer, Tim Chevrier of the Blend Media Group capturing photo’s for us on the 22nd. Take a look through the images below to see just how much learning and fun went on!
